In the US we get a lackluster version of fish & chips. Unknown white fish, quickly fried in thin batter.
Even the “gourmet” fish & chips I get in restaurants is only ok at best. I hadn’t had really good fish & chips since I had been in London.
The Chippy blows even the fish & chips I had in London out of the water. A simple restaurant hidden behind street hawker stalls and run by a very British family out of India.
Their food is super British, super simple, and super delicious. Butties (breakfast sandwiches) for breakfast, and fish & chips and pies for dinner. Nothing in the world beats greasy fish and fluffy fried fries for dinner, except adding on a San Miguel beer to the mix.
